First snow today!

  • First snow today, at least one that stayed on the ground longer than one second.
  • First time to drive with my Flevo-Bike on/in ice and snow. It's pretty much like every other bike: Be careful!
  • It wasn't particularly beautiful therefore no pictures.

Comments Welcome!

I managed to construct something, that allows you, dear reader, to give comments to my entries. It's not very nice, because it's a abused guestbook system, but i hope it works....

Tagesarbeit

  • ScrapBook entdeckt (siehe Screenshot),
Firefox with Additions

Gute Nacht.

Hope and Despair

Got luck and won two tickets for Hope -> went there with Julia today. All in all it was very good, but the first part ("Prussian Blue") impressed me most. I don't really know what it should depict, but I saw the whole history of mankind compressed in a dance. And NO I din't take any drugs before.
Afterwards we ate Calamares and French Fries at home and watched the most depressing movie:
"All or Nothing" (imdb) /(Review).
It's about everydays live of normal people in London. It's 98% sad and 2% consolatory. Although you realy need determination to watch it through, it's worthwhile.

Gaming Night

gaming night at K3 malmoSome students from the local interaction design course organized a gaming night at the K3 today (friday). There were 6 video projectors, and 5 different games. (2x) Halo 2 with 4 gaming pads (see picture), a dance game with 2 pads (see the other picture), one video camera game, on bongo game and something like Tekken.
I played a Halo 2 in the beginning, which is fun if you play it with four other people, but get's boring after a while.
The next was the bongo game. The goal is to drum or clap your hands to the music, which is not as easy as you would think, especially when there are two other music games besides you. But fun none the less.
gaming night at K3 malmoEven more fun was the dance game. You stand on a 3x3 pattern and must place the feet according to the signs on the screen. I only played the beginner level, which is hard enough for me (my friends know my dancing skills). After a match of 3 songs I won against Per (the man on left) even though accidentially.
By the way it wasn't as 'nerdy' as you would think; there were even some girls, too :-)

Back in the game

Had to give my iBook away, because the harddisk had a bad failure, and i lost some days work, arghhh!
And then I had to ask Julia, if i can use her iBook, for one or two hours, which she granted me very generously, but none the less i didn't have my OWN. For more than one week my little white book made trip to the Netherlands, and came back with not only a new harddisk but also a new Combo Drive! They must have experienced how anoying it is the CDs don't come out again (fucxxng slot-loading) and i totally forgot that when i gave it to the Mac Support (which just recently moved to a location in the city {pictures of the opening}).
And now i make backups every day.....

Malmö by Light

Instead of a adequate saturday night clubbing, we went for a walk around Möllevangstorget and watched some Malmö by Light installations.

A Night of Thousand Dinners

On the 3rd of November, Julia and I went to a dinner for 180SEK at the Malmö. Quite much but it was not the food that counted but the gesture. Organized by the local student group of roj en mina or no more landmines it was part of the 'night of a thousand dinners' where people all over Europe ate to help non profit organizations with their projects. We ate to clear minefields in Kambodia.
Besides the delicious food, the ambassador in Sweden for 'roj en mina' Maja Gullstrand played very nice Jazz music and a dance act of 5 students from Lund showed us their interpretation of the winning song of the European Song Contest 2004, i forgot the title but it was very funny.
Facts:
  • 70 million landmines lie in the ground worldwide
  • almost 20000 people die of landmines each year
  • more than 40% are children
  • 9 of 10 are civilians
